Game 6th June vs. Burnside Green

Yet again the Coaches and I’m sure the Parents are all on a high after another superb game of Rugby!!!

It was sad that we couldn’t give out more Man of the Match awards today because more of you deserved them. Congratulations to Luke and Kurtis (again) who both had excellent games.

We got our subs very messy at the end of the game (Coaches fault) so we didn’t finish off as well as we might have.

Great ripping, tackling and assisting by all today.

Oliver, great captaincy as was Kurtis with the vice-captain role. Next week Kurtis is Captain and Luke is Vice-Captain.

I was very impressed with all of your positional play, the backs all played in their correct positions for most of the game. In 3 cases if Fagan had been out of position the opposition would have scored but he’s try-saving tackles fixed that and allowed our other backs to get the ball and in 2 situations we ended up scoring instead.

I hope the injuries that you all sustained are OK and that they heal for next weeks game so that you can get more injuries again  It’s what rugby is all about … isn’t it men?

PASSING EARLIER
At practice on Thursday and at next weeks game I want all of you (especially the Backs) to be aware of who is around them when running. We had several opportunities today and last week where we could have passed the ball instead of being tackled … most of these situations would have resulted in additional tries.

I don’t think players are hogging the ball rather they are not aware of their other players and forget to pass.

We still have a lot of improvements to make even though we are winning.

I would rather lose playing very well … than win playing bad!!!
