Coach's Corner
2010
I want to see you all back in 2010 where we will continue to improve, compete and have a whole lot of fun.
Game 8th August against Belfast Gold
A very well played game Gentlemen, again without any substitutes.
Belfast are a very good side and you posted an excellent score regardless.
Game Last Week 18th July
A very well played game last week gentlemen. Great passing and tackling, the odd lapse in good tackling technique did see some very easy tries being given away though.
If you all play against Hornby this week like you did against Sydenham last week and you will walk away with another win.
We only have about 6 games left for the season, a win with every game would see us winning every game but our first against Burnside Red (who are still in Section 2). This would be a very good record for our club.
SECTION ONE
Our game against New Brighton Black has shown that we can have bad days.
We had a number of players put in a top game while some seemed disinterested.
Rugby is a team game and if team members don't commit 100% to the 40 minutes of game time then you are letting down all of your team mates, coaches & parents.
You men have shown that you can play to win, we are not like other teams where they play Rugby to participate .... we are good enough to win and you enjoy winning ... don't you?
PROMOTED
From our first game in July we will be promoted to Section One in the Under 8 Grade.
Our games will be harder but I am confident that if we continue to improve at the rate we have been that we should expect to either win or lose by small margins.
If you want to win every game then you will need to concentrate and listen very hard to your coaches.
Game 13th June 2009
Another wonderful game of Rugby last week, well done Gentlemen.
The Coaches asked for better passing and better off-loading when tackled, your improvement in this area was fantastic and we’ll be asking for exactly the same this week.

The Future
The rules and conditions that we play under this year do not change in any way until 2012 for us, we have 3 years under these rules. So the scrums and line-outs are not contested, we play with 10 players per side, etc.
As a result we need to plan for the future … we should take a leaf out if Robbie Deans’ book on running a great team.
Game 6th June vs. Burnside Green
Yet again the Coaches and I’m sure the Parents are all on a high after another superb game of Rugby!!!
It was sad that we couldn’t give out more Man of the Match awards today because more of you deserved them. Congratulations to Luke and Kurtis (again) who both had excellent games.
Welcome to our team website
My aims and expectations in coaching this year is to ensure that you enjoy the game of Rugby, that you respect the coaches and each other, and that you play safely and fairly.
